Beebe Healthcare opened a new facility in Frankford, DE, that houses a free-standing emergency center along with services for medical oncology, radiation oncology, and hematology for local cancer patients. The facility, which stands just under 42,000 square feet, includes private and semi-private treatment rooms, a café, laboratories, multiple nurses’ stations, x-ray areas, a linear accelerator, and more. Nickle provided the entire electrical system for the building, including a new 2,000-amp main service, normal power, life safety, critical and equipment power distribution, and branch panels. The new 800-kilowatt generator provides emergency power throughout most of the facility and electricians also provided two uninterruptible power supply systems to maintain immediate transfer of power to the IT rooms and laboratory equipment, so these critical areas never lose power during an outage.
