The Delaware Army National Guard Maintenance Shop #3 in Newark, DE, is a one-stop shop for military vehicle maintenance. This 62,000-square-foot space is an upgrade from the two small buildings on the 13-acre site that were built in the 1950s. The facility was wired with a 1,600-amp, 480-volt service and a 500-kilowatt backup generator. Nickle was also responsible for security, fire alarm, 60-kilowatt solar power, site lighting, and gate security. The building consists of two large garage areas with multiple work bays and a large paint booth for military equipment. There are also multiple shops, such as carpentry, canvas, wood, glass repair, and an explosion-proof work/storage area.
