Safety Specialist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all laws, regulations, codes, and PPE requirements are observed
• Monitor and implement ongoing updates to safety regulations and reporting requirements
• Organize and conduct OSHA training and develop safety training courses
• Identify hazardous conditions and coordinate controls and corrective measures
• Evaluate the probability and severity of incidents and exposures
• Ensure hazardous materials are stored correctly
• Conduct frequent on-site inspections with advice and coaching on compliance
• Investigate incidents, determine causes, and recommend corrective action
• Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions
• Serve as company representative to customers, OSHA, and other safety agencies
• Build industry relationships through community, chamber, and committee involvement

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years in safety management or relevant field experience
• OSHA 30 with technical knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, and local construction standards
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices
• Working knowledge of electrical construction and NFPA 70E preferred
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of employees, management, vendors, and clients
• First Aid/CPR certified
• Valid driver's license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, squatting, kneeling, and reaching. Occasionally work at heights or in confined spaces and lift up to 25 pounds. Work on construction sites and in an office in all weather conditions. Protective equipment required where necessary.
